Our Goals for 2026
- Community Benefits – Define and understand the CBA Ordinance, define a position by Hood Research and publish a paper outlining our position and recommendations. [Community Revitalization]; (Research, Report)
- Cursive Writing – Make a presentation before the Detroit School Board and engage in an ongoing community campaign to adopt cursive writing into the Detroit educational curriculum. [Education, Literacy](Campaign)
- Voter Registration – Work with groups in Michigan to register 30k voters before the August Primary [Democracy] (Campaign)
- Repeal PA 436 – Author/Publish a paper on what is PA436, a brief history on why it was enacted and why the act needs to be abolished. [Democracy](Paper)
- BOPC Reform – Working with BOPC Victoria Camille to review DPD/BOPC policy and publish papers for any recommendations with an emphasis on the core mission of the BOPC. [Public Safety] {part of the 5-year goal plan}
- Immigration – Discuss US Immigration Policy, Include the question on designating the City of Detroit as a sanctuary city – producing a guide on how to deal with immigration enforcement, our position on the agencies and what communities can do in the protection and support of our neighbors. - Apartheid/Genocide – Discuss the ongoing conflict in Gaza and determine our position expressing that in a published paper. [Human Rights] (Research, Paper)
